
Bridgestone India has announced a major leadership change, naming Rajarshi Moitra as its new Managing Director, effective January 1, 2026. Moitra currently serves as the company’s Deputy Managing Director and will take over from Hiroshi Yoshizane, who has led Bridgestone India since January 2024.
Leadership Transition and New Roles
Hiroshi Yoshizane will step into a broader global leadership role as Vice President and Senior Officer of Bridgestone Corporation. He will also continue as Group President of Bridgestone Asia Pacific, India, China (BSAPIC)—a position he has held since May 2025. Additionally, Yoshizane will retain his roles as Chairman of the Board at Bridgestone India and Vice Chairman of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA).
Rajarshi Moitra’s Experience and Contributions
With more than 20 years of expertise in business strategy, profit centre management, sales and marketing, and organizational transformation, Moitra has played a pivotal role in advancing Bridgestone India’s business. Since joining the company in 2019, he has led key verticals including:
- Consumer & Commercial Business
- Solution Business
- Logistics & Supply Chain Management
Moitra was promoted to Executive Director for Sales & Marketing in June 2024 and elevated to Deputy Managing Director in May 2025.
Expressing gratitude for his new role, Moitra said he is committed to aligning with Bridgestone’s mission of “Serving Society with Superior Quality” while strengthening relationships with customers, OEM partners, and communities.
Outgoing MD on the Company’s Progress
Yoshizane praised the team’s achievements during his tenure, citing improvements in operational strength, market presence, and safety and quality standards. He emphasized his confidence in Moitra’s leadership to drive Bridgestone India’s next phase of growth.

Since commencing operations in 1996, Bridgestone India has grown into one of the largest tyre manufacturers in the country, serving both OEM and replacement markets. It operates major manufacturing facilities in Kheda (Madhya Pradesh) and Chakan (Pune). Notably, the Indore plant produced its 100 millionth tyre in 2023.
