Emrah Ozer appointed as CFO of Mercedes-Benz India

Ozer, currently serving as a Member of the Board of Management and Head of Finance & Controlling at Mercedes-Benz Otomotiv Turkey, will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Mercedes-Benz India.

Mercedes-Benz India has announced a major leadership change in its Finance & Controlling division, effective from 1st January 2025. Ozer, currently a Member of the Board of Management and Head of Finance & Controlling at Mercedes-Benz Otomotiv Turkey, will take over as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Mercedes-Benz India. In addition, Emrah will soon join the Board of Mercedes-Benz India as an Executive Director. He succeeds Evren Cakabey, who has transitioned to the role of Executive Director & CFO at Mercedes-Benz G GmbH in Austria as of 1st January 2025.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, welcomed Emrah Ozer, highlighting his extensive expertise in international finance, business modeling, and investor relations. “Emrah’s diverse financial experience and strong track record position him perfectly to sustain and enhance Mercedes-Benz’s growth in India,” said Iyer.

Iyer also expressed appreciation for Evren Cakabey’s exceptional leadership, recognizing her contributions in driving profitable growth, navigating economic challenges, and advancing the company’s EV and localization strategies. “Evren’s leadership in implementing the ‘Retail of the Future’ model and fostering Diversity & Inclusion initiatives has had a lasting impact, and we wish her continued success in Austria,” Iyer added.

With more than 20 years of experience in finance and controlling, Ozer brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role. His past positions include Head of Finance & Controlling at Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Benz AG, and smart, where he was responsible for India and the NAFTA region. Ozer holds a Master’s Diploma in Economics from the University of Wilhelmshaven, Germany, and started his career at smart GmbH in Stuttgart in 2002. Over the years, he has held key leadership roles across major markets, including Turkey, India, and North America, with notable achievements in optimizing business performance and financial strategies.
