Former Skoda India Director Zac Hollis to head Vinfast Asia

Zac Hollis played a key role in the successful implementation of Skoda’s India 2.0 strategy and is now set to roll out his veteran experiences in Vinfast.

Vinfast appointed Zac Hollis as its Asia Head on January 23, 2024. Zac Hollis played a key role in the successful implementation of Skoda’s India 2.0 strategy and is now set to roll out his veteran experiences in Vinfast. Zac Hollis is an automotive industry veteran with 27+ years of experience and famous for his transformational leaderships. Hollis became a part of Vinfast within four months of joining MG Motor UK as Prestige Models Operations Director.

About his appointment in Vinfast, Zac Hollis said in his LinkedIn post, “It has been said many times that the automotive industry will change more in the next 10 years than it did in the last 100 years and I am looking forward to being part of that change. The Automotive industry has set itself on a path of electrification and Vinfast will play a big part in that movement as it launches a range of electric cars across the globe. We will open markets globally and I am looking forward to spearheading this in the important markets of Asia.”

During his 4 years in Skoda India as Director, Sales and Marketing, Hollis made record-breaking sales in 2022 with the introduction of Kushaq SUV and Slavia sedan. These all contributed to his successful and transformative success as Skoda India head.

Joining Vinfast as Asia head, gives Hollis a chance to showcase his global management leadership skills and to lead Vinfast’s USD 2- billion rollout plan in India. Vinfast on January 6, 2024 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tamil Nadu government to start an integrated EV manufacturing plant in India. This step provides a gateway to the company in the Indian market.

Hollis’ onboarding in Vinfast as Asia head happened during the company’s entry into the third largest car market in the world. It brings an opportunity to structure the rigorous manufacturing plan that the company has and pick Indian talents for the plant. It is expected that the Vinfast plant would create around 3,000 jobs in the state.

Hollis has two and half decades of experience in the auto industry where he has served in Volkswagen, Volkswagen Ireland, Volkswagen China, MG Motor UK, and others.
