Olectra Greentech, a leading electric bus manufacturer in India, has announced key leadership changes following its recent board meeting. Mahesh Babu Subramanian, former CEO of Switch Mobility, has been appointed as Additional Director and Managing Director for a three-year term, effective September 27, 2025, according to regulatory filings.
With over 35 years of experience in the mobility sector, Mahesh Babu has held prominent roles, including COO at Mahindra Electric and CEO at Switch Mobility, where he led initiatives such as the launch of electric double-decker buses under Ashok Leyland’s EV division. He holds a postgraduate engineering degree from BITS Pilani, is a Fulbright Scholar, and has completed executive programs at Carnegie Mellon University, IMD Switzerland, and Yale University.
Alongside Mahesh Babu’s appointment, Olectra also announced the reappointment of Chintalapudi Laksmi Kumari as Independent Director for a five-year term starting January 9, 2026. Other confirmed leadership roles include P. Rajesh Reddy as Whole-Time Director, B. Sharat Chandra as CFO, and P. Hanuman Prasad as Vice President – Company Secretary & Head Legal.
