Steelbird’s Manav Kapur appointed Chairman of ACMA’s Aftermarket Pillar

The ACMA aftermarket segment supports mobility, employment, and road safety nationwide. Under Manav Kapur’s leadership, it will focus on improving competitiveness, increasing localisation, and expanding the global reach of Indian auto component makers. Previously, Kapur led ACMA’s Young Business Leaders Forum before passing the role to Akhilesh Rai of Suprajit Engineering.

The Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) has appointed Manav Kapur, Executive Director at Steelbird International, as the new Chairman of its Aftermarket Pillar. This segment of ACMA plays a crucial role in supporting mobility, employment, and road safety across the country. Under Kapur’s leadership, the focus will now shift towards enhancing competitiveness, boosting localisation, and expanding the global footprint of Indian auto component manufacturers.

Previously, Kapur led ACMA’s Young Business Leaders Forum (YBLF), where he championed industry engagement and leadership development. He has now handed over the YBLF baton to Akhilesh Rai, Director at Suprajit Engineering.

Commenting on his new role, Kapur said: “The Indian aftermarket is at an inflection point. With rising vehicle ownership, a growing emphasis on safety, and India’s increasing participation in global mobility value chains, we see a tremendous opportunity to transform the sector. Our goal is to drive initiatives that make India more self-reliant while establishing the aftermarket as a trusted global partner.”

ACMA Leadership Restructuring

Kapur’s appointment comes alongside broader leadership changes at ACMA. Vikrampati Singhania, Managing Director of JK Fenner (India) Ltd., has been named President of ACMA for 2025–26, while Sriram Viji, Managing Director of Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., has been designated as the President-elect.

The new leadership team will collaborate with Vinnie Mehta, Director General of ACMA, and other senior members during a period marked by rapid changes in technology, vehicle electrification, global supply chain shifts, and international expansion.

ACMA represents over 950 auto component manufacturers, contributing more than 2.3% to India’s GDP. The association actively works on shaping industry policy, promoting innovation, and fostering global partnerships.
