Switch Mobility appoints Mahesh Babu as global CEO

Mahesh Babu had joined the company in September last year as its global COO and India CEO.

Switch Mobility, the electric bus and light commercial vehicle maker of the Hinduja Group, has announced the elevation of Mahesh Babu as CEO. Babu had joined the company in September last year as its global COO and India CEO. He takes over the role from Andy Palmer, who, according to the company, requested to step down as Vice Chairman and CEO for personal reasons. In a press statement, Switch Mobility said, ‘To maintain continuity of strategy and execution of plans, the Board has approved the elevation of Mahesh Babu as CEO of Switch Mobility. Dheeraj Hinduja will be assuming the role of Executive Chairman, immediately.

Prior to joining Switch Mobility, Mahesh Babu had a 22-year stint at the Mahindra Group, where his last role was MD & CEO of Mahindra Electric Mobility. Babu had a nearly eight and a half year stint at Ashok Leyland before shifting to Mahindra & Mahindra.
