India’s automobile industry delivered a record-breaking performance in November 2025, with passenger vehicles (PV), two-wheelers and three-wheelers registering their highest-ever November sales, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The strong showing reflects sustained post-festive demand, healthy retail traction and continued support from the government’s GST 2.0 reforms.
Passenger Vehicles Lead Growth
Domestic passenger vehicle sales rose 18.7 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to 4,12,405 units, marking the best November on record for the segment. Utility vehicles continued to anchor demand, while passenger cars and vans also posted robust double-digit growth in both production and exports.
Exports outpaced domestic growth, with PV exports surging 39.8 per cent from 60,553 units to 84,646 units, led by strong traction in passenger cars and utility vehicles.
Two-Wheelers Post Best November Ever
Two-wheeler domestic sales climbed 21.2 per cent YoY to 19,44,475 units, making it the segment’s strongest November performance to date. Scooters led the growth with a 29.4 per cent increase, followed by motorcycles at 17.5 per cent, while moped sales declined 2.1 per cent, reflecting shifting consumer preferences.
Exports mirrored the domestic momentum, rising 30.1 per cent to 4,71,012 units. Motorcycle exports grew 28.2 per cent, scooter exports surged 44.6 per cent, while moped exports contracted sharply (–44.5 per cent), highlighting a changing global product mix.
Three-Wheelers See Strong Export Push
The three-wheeler segment recorded 21.3 per cent growth in domestic sales, reaching 71,999 units in November 2025. Passenger carriers surged 24.6 per cent to 59,446 units, while goods carriers grew 10.9 per cent to 10,874 units. E-rickshaw sales declined 25.6 per cent, amid regulatory and supply-side adjustments, whereas e-carts—though still a small base—posted a sharp 87.9 per cent increase.
Exports stood out as a key highlight, with three-wheeler exports jumping 96.3 per cent to 46,013 units, making it one of the strongest-performing segments of the month.
Industry Outlook Remains Positive
Commenting on the November 2025 performance, Rajesh Menon, Director General, SIAM, said the industry has maintained its growth momentum beyond the festive period, supported by policy reforms and improving market sentiment. He added that with continued government support and stable demand conditions, the industry remains optimistic about sustaining this growth trajectory into 2026.
