The 2025 Acura ADX has earned the prestigious TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), one of the highest recognitions for vehicle safety performance. The compact premium SUV delivered strong results in IIHS crashworthiness, crash avoidance, and mitigation evaluations, supported by Acura’s comprehensive safety technologies.
The ADX’s performance was bolstered by the AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, featuring next-generation collision mitigation capabilities. With this achievement, the ADX becomes the third Acura model to receive the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award in 2025, joining the Integra and MDX. The vehicle has also secured a 5-star Overall Vehicle Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
All 2025 Acura ADX models come standard with AcuraWatch™ safety features, including Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™), Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Road Departure Mitigation, Traffic Jam Assist, Blind Spot Information, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor.
In addition, the ADX features Acura’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, designed to enhance occupant protection in a wide range of frontal collisions, complemented by advanced supplemental restraint systems.
In a segment first, ADX uses next-generation driver and front passenger airbags specifically designed to reduce head rotation in a collision, especially an oblique collision. The driver’s airbag uses an innovative donut-shaped structure to cradle and hold the head, mitigating rotation and reducing the likelihood of brain injury.
On the passenger side, a three-chamber airbag design also used in Integra achieves a similar result. The three chambers inflate separately, with the two outer chambers that extend above the main chamber designed to cradle the head and control rotation.
Along with side curtain airbags and side impact airbags for both driver and front passenger, ADX features a total of 10 airbags.
In addition to IIHS testing, every Acura model that has been fully evaluated in the NHTSA’s 2025 and 2026 model year NCAP testing has received a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score.
