Continental and NOVOSENSE Collaborate on Vehicle Safety Systems

The two companies have signed a memorandum to strengthen strategic collaboration in designing sensor ICs with functional safety features and integrating NOVOSENSE’s products into Continental’s global platforms.

NOVOSENSE Microelectronics and Continental Automotive Technologies have announced a partnership to develop automotive-grade sensors aimed at enhancing vehicle safety. The two companies have signed a memorandum to strengthen strategic collaboration in designing sensor ICs with functional safety features and integrating NOVOSENSE’s products into Continental’s global platforms.

“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our globalization strategy,” said Shengyang Wang, co-founder and CEO of NOVOSENSE. “We are dedicated to delivering superior reliability and performance in automotive systems and look forward to co-developing these critical technologies.

“The product roadmap of NOVOSENSE addresses our targets to set up a more diverse supply chain,” said Theo Brunner, head of electronic purchasing at Continental Automotive. “This helps to better handle geopolitical risks and at the same time enhance competitiveness of our safety applications.”

A news release announcing the partnership explained that the companies are developing products for safety functions and system reliability. They include airbag triggers and battery pack monitors.
