Hyundai Motor Group leads 2025 IIHS Safety Rankings with Industry-Best 21 Awards

Hyundai Motor Group has emerged as the safest automotive group in the 2025 IIHS evaluations, securing a segment-leading 21 Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ awards—more than any other manufacturer for the second year in a row.

Hyundai Motor Group has once again reinforced its position as a global leader in vehicle safety, earning a combined total of 21 TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) and TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards in the 2025 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) evaluations. This marks the second consecutive year the Group has achieved the highest number of IIHS safety awards among all automotive manufacturers.

Of the 21 recognised models, 18 received the top-tier 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, reflecting a substantial increase from 12 TSP+ awards in 2024. The achievement highlights Hyundai Motor Group’s continued success in meeting—and exceeding—the IIHS’s increasingly stringent safety standards through advanced vehicle engineering and safety technologies.

Among the 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ recipients, Hyundai Motor Group’s flagship electric SUVs — including the all-new 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 and 2025-26 Kia EV9 — delivered strong performance across all IIHS evaluation categories, earning the top ‘good’ ratings in every applicable crashworthiness and crash-avoidance test.

The Group’s brands achieved the following results in 2025:

  • Hyundai Motor Company leads all automakers with eight TSP+ and two TSP ratings
  • Genesis received five TSP+ ratings and one TSP rating
  • Kia secured five TSP+ ratings

These results demonstrate the Group’s commitment to advancing safety technologies and meeting the industry’s most rigorous testing standards.
