Lexus has redefined luxury mobility with the LS Concept, a radical six-wheeled electric MPV, unveiled at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. No longer just the “Luxury Sedan,” LS now stands for Luxury Space, showcasing the brand’s bold vision for the future of electric luxury vehicles. Alongside it, Lexus also revealed the LS Coupe Concept, a sleek crossover coupe, but it’s the six-wheeled LS Concept that is capturing imaginations worldwide.
A Six-Wheeled Statement of Innovation
The LS Concept pushes design boundaries with six wheels—two large illuminated front wheels and four smaller rear wheels. With no conventional bonnet, mirrors, or traditional car silhouette, the concept features a futuristic LED front fascia, including a full-width light bar and inverted L-shaped strips that replace the brand’s signature grille. The flowing windshield, sliding doors with slatted privacy glass, and wraparound rear LEDs with illuminated Lexus lettering create a monolithic, sculptural exterior.
A Moving Lounge Inside
Inside, the LS Concept abandons the traditional cabin in favor of a mobile living space. The minimalist dashboard features multiple displays surrounding a controller-style steering wheel, merging mirror feeds, and in-cabin touchscreens. The interior accommodates six passengers across three rows, with reclining middle-row seats resembling lounge chairs. Dual panoramic glass roofs bathe the cabin in natural light, while Japanese-inspired materials such as bamboo, wood, and soft ambient lighting create a calm, serene atmosphere.
A Vision of Future Luxury
Though a design exercise without engineering constraints, the LS Concept offers a glimpse into Lexus’s next chapter in luxury mobility. Combining spaceship-like innovation with tranquil living space, it represents the brand’s boldest statement yet on electric luxury travel, merging futuristic design, comfort, and Japanese craftsmanship.
