Maserati marks a new chapter in its storied history as the production of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio—across all versions—returns to the brand’s historic Modena plant. Representing the pinnacle of Italian elegance, craftsmanship, and style, these iconic models are coming home to the city where previous generations were born, continuing Maserati’s legacy of industrial expertise and automotive excellence.
This symbolic move underscores Maserati’s enduring commitment to Italy’s Motor Valley and to Modena, the brand’s historic heart and soul.
To celebrate this milestone, Maserati has organized a week-long series of events from November 5 to 9, in partnership with Sonus faber, the world-renowned Italian audio manufacturer. This collaboration celebrates acoustic artistry and automotive excellence, blending the precision of sound with the soul of Maserati.
The program brings together employees, customers, institutions, and the city of Modena, and features the world premiere of two spectacular One-Off models along with an exclusive Fuoriserie customization pack, highlighting Maserati’s dedication to bespoke luxury and performance.
Everything is encapsulated in the concept of “Maserati Meccanica Lirica”, which celebrates the meeting of two pillars of Modena’s culture: opera and Granturismo engineering, produced in Modena since 1947 with A6 1500. Two worlds united by the same passion and attention to detail give life to a language that transforms mechanical performance into an aesthetic and sensory experience. Moreover, “Maserati Meccanica Lirica” is a creative platform that has brought together all of the company’s divisions, uniting the exclusivity of its products with a cultural and symbolic dimension that links Maserati to Modena through sound—where the voice of the engine becomes music, and the harmony between power and beauty expresses the very soul of the Trident.
“In Modena, mechanics have their melody, and music has its own character. Here, Maserati’s heart beats, and the Brand rediscovers its true voice,” reflects the spirit of Maserati’s historic return.
Jean-Philippe Imparato, Maserati CEO, states: “The homecoming of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio is more than a tribute to our legendary history—it is a strategic, identity-driven choice that looks confidently to the future. It reaffirms Modena’s central role for Maserati and strengthens our commitment to investing in Italy, nurturing excellence, know-how, and visionary innovation. This move is a tangible sign of cohesion and belonging, underscoring our determination to continue building the legacy of this extraordinary Brand.”
Santo Ficili, Maserati COO, adds: “Modena and its surrounding region are the heart and soul of our iconic Brand—the longest-standing in Italy’s Motor Valley—bringing a singular vision of performance and design to the world. The return of these two legendary models is not only a major investment for Maserati but a commitment to our people and the local community, creating new opportunities for growth while celebrating the enduring bond between the Brand and its birthplace.”
