Yokohama Rubber successfully cracks down on counterfeit aluminum wheels in China

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. has announced the successful conclusion of its initiative to eliminate counterfeit versions of its aluminum wheels in China.

The company filed an administrative complaint with the Municipal Administration for Market Regulation in Anlu City, Hubei Province, and provided evidence concerning a local manufacturer producing counterfeit “ADVAN Racing” aluminum wheels for sports cars. Acting on this information, Anlu authorities conducted a search at the manufacturer’s premises in November 2024, seizing all counterfeit products found on-site.

A subsequent investigation identified the company that had commissioned the production of the counterfeit wheels. As a result, the Anlu Municipal Administration for Market Regulation ordered the manufacturer to halt production and imposed administrative penalties on the ordering company, including a fine, a cease-and-desist order, and the surrender of all remaining counterfeit wheels.

This successful action highlights Yokohama Rubber’s ongoing commitment to protecting its brand and ensuring product authenticity.

Prior to this case, Yokohama Rubber had filed a petition for the administrative complaint against distributors of counterfeit versions of the Company’s aluminum wheels in China and succeeded in eliminating the counterfeit products. Yokohama Rubber remains resolute in its stance against the infringement of intellectual property rights, including the production and sale of counterfeit goods, and will strengthen its efforts against such illegal activities in Japan and overseas to ensure that its customers around the world are confident and secure in the knowledge that they are using genuine YOKOHAMA products.
