Uno Minda steps up anti-counterfeiting drive with major raids across India

Uno Minda Limited (formerly Minda Industries Limited), a global Tier-1 supplier of cutting-edge automotive systems and solutions for OEMs, has intensified its efforts to combat counterfeit products through a series of targeted raids conducted nationwide.

In collaboration with local authorities and professional investigative agencies, these enforcement actions have already led to the seizure of 4,280 counterfeit Uno Minda handlebar switches. The initiative aims to dismantle illegal manufacturing and distribution networks, protect consumers from substandard imitation parts, and safeguard the integrity of the Uno Minda brand.

The latest successful operation, conducted on August 28, 2025, in Sirsa, Haryana, targeted S.K. Traders, a prominent wholesaler operating from Showroom No. 21 and 22, opposite Vishwakarma Mandir Auto Market, Sirsa. Field investigations conducted from July 14 to July 15, 2025, confirmed that S.K. Traders, was actively dealing in counterfeit Uno Minda Starter Switches (SW-0686Z), co-branding them with “Sarvi” and distributing them across Haryana.

The raid at S.K. Traders resulted in the seizure of 2,740 pieces of counterfeit Uno Minda Starter Switches, with an estimated market value of ₹1.20 Lakhs. This decisive action is expected to create a significant deterrent among counterfeiters operating in Haryana.

“Counterfeit automotive parts pose a serious risk to vehicle safety and compromise the performance and reliability that Uno Minda products are known for. These raids underscore our unwavering commitment to protecting our customers and our brand. We are actively pursuing and dismantling these illicit operations, from manufacturers to distributors, to ensure that only genuine Uno Minda products reach the market.” Stated a company official.

This Sirsa raid is part of a broader, intensified anti-counterfeiting drive by Uno Minda in FY 2025-26. Other significant enforcement actions include:

  • July 12, 2025 (Patna, Bihar): A raid on Sonu Graphics (4 CR Complex, RK Bhattacharya Road, Gandhi Maidan) led to the seizure of 310 counterfeit Uno Minda handle bar switches from this wholesaler cum retailer.
  • August 8, 2025 (Guwahati, Assam): Coordinated raids targeted multiple entities:
  • Reliance Bullet Zone (Chinmoy Complex, Shop No. 14, Tokobari Kali Mandir Road, A T Road) – 300 counterfeit Uno Minda handle bar switches seized from this retailer.
  • Rajdhani Enterprises (Shop No. 22, Chinmoy Complex, Tokabari Kali Mandir Road) – 30 counterfeit Uno Minda handle bar switches seized from this wholesaler.
  • An unnamed godown (House No.11, Tokabari) – 900 counterfeit Uno Minda handle bar switches seized from this wholesaler.

Uno Minda collaborates closely with professional investigative agencies like EIPR India Pvt. Ltd. and Nucleion Risk Consulting Pvt Ltd, along with respective state police forces, to conduct these enforcement actions. FIRs and investigative reports are available for fact-checking by journalists.
