Sonalika unveils CNG/CBG Tractor at Agrovision 2025

Sonalika has unveiled its new CNG/CBG tractor at Agrovision 2025 in Nagpur, advancing cleaner and sustainable farm mobility. The launch, attended by Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, reinforces India’s SATAT and GobarDHAN clean-energy initiatives.

Sonalika Tractors has introduced its latest CNG/CBG-powered tractor at the 16th Agrovision 2025 agri summit in Nagpur, showcasing a major leap towards cleaner and more sustainable farm mobility. The unveiling took place in the presence of Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The eco-friendly tractor aligns with the Indian government’s SATAT and GobarDHAN initiatives aimed at accelerating biofuel production and clean energy adoption across rural markets. Designed for heavy-duty haulage operations, the model delivers high torque and greater durability while maintaining superior fuel efficiency.

Key specifications include a fuel-efficient engine operating at 2,000 RPM, a 12+3 constant mesh side-shift transmission, and 14.9×28 rear tyres for improved traction. The tractor features a dual-tank setup with a combined 40 kg fuel capacity (14 kg + 27 kg), significantly reducing the need for frequent refuelling. Sonalika also showcased a tractor–trolley configuration optimised for improved operational productivity and compatibility with the growing CNG fuelling network.

Commenting on the launch, Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director, International Tractors Limited, said: “The future of Indian agriculture depends on clean, smart and economical technologies. Our new CNG/CBG tractor reinforces India’s green mobility mission under SATAT and GobarDHAN. It offers heavy-duty performance, reduced operating expenses and an environmentally responsible fuel system.”
