Eicher Trucks and Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), has achieved a landmark milestone with its Eicher Pro X EV, becoming the first and fastest electric commercial vehicle to successfully complete the demanding Kashmir–Kanyakumari route under fully loaded conditions.
Recognised by the India Book of Records (IBR), the record-setting expedition covered over 4,000 km in just six days, commencing in Srinagar on January 20, 2026, and concluding in Kanyakumari on January 26, 2026. Along the way, the Eicher Pro X EV traversed India’s diverse terrains and climatic zones—navigating the Himalayas, the northern plains, the Deccan Plateau, and challenging ghat sections—demonstrating robust performance across extreme conditions.
Throughout the journey, the electric truck utilised a network of public charging infrastructure, seamlessly accessed by the driver via the MyEicher App. An official adjudicator from the India Book of Records accompanied the vehicle for the entire run, verifying route compliance, loading conditions, distance covered, charging stops, and overall journey time.
Aligned with the Government of India’s Net Zero emissions vision and the national push for sustainable transportation, the expedition serves as a compelling real-world validation of Eicher’s electric mobility capabilities. The record-setting run underscores the readiness of the Eicher Pro X EV to support India’s transition towards a greener, decarbonised logistics ecosystem.
Marking the milestone, Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., said, “For more than four decades, Eicher trucks and Buses have earned customer trust through leadership in fuel efficiency and application-specific engineering. The record-setting performance of the Eicher Pro X reinforces our unwavering focus on application excellence, reliability, and performance, anchored in robust product development and manufacturing capabilities, and enabled by a customer-centric, pan-India commercial and dealer network. I commend the entire Eicher team for achieving these well-deserved records.”
Speaking at the Award Ceremony, SS Gill, Chief Commercial Officer, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., said, “By covering the K2K route with a loaded Pro X EV, Eicher Trucks & Buses has proven that electric mobility is no longer restricted to short-haul, ‘last-mile’ deliveries. We are not just setting records, but through the strength of our service network and extensive dealer set-up, we are demonstrating that our EV technology is commercially viable, reliable, and has the range to serve as the backbone of India’s green logistics corridors.”
Abhishek Chaudhary, SVP – SCV Sales & Marketing, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., added,
“The Eicher Pro X EV was put to the ultimate test—covering over 4000 kilometers across diverse climates and challenging altitudes. With this recognition from the India Book of Records we’ve moved beyond our own stringent testing benchmarks to real-world validation – Demonstrating that Eicher Pro X EV is a dependable partner for logistics movement across varied operations in India.”
Commenting on the K2K mission, Bhagwan K Bindiganavile, EVP – Strategic Planning, Brand & Communications, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., concluded, “From one end of India to another, the journey between Srinagar, Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu and every region in between represents an iconic and timeless challenge for any man, woman or machine. It was a challenge worthy of Eicher’s heritage that has made Eicher trucks the cornerstone of speedy and fuel-efficient transport. In line with our ‘Nayi Soch, Naye Raaste’ promise, the records set by the Eicher Pro X EV conclusively demonstrates our future-readiness.”
Throughout the journey, the Eicher Pro X EV demonstrated consistent performance with multiple planned charging halts. The expedition reinforced that India’s rapidly expanding EV charging infrastructure can support electric commercial vehicles across highways, urban clusters, varied terrains, and long-haul applications.
With this milestone, Eicher aims to address one of the key barriers to EV adoption in the commercial vehicle space: confidence. By demonstrating real-world endurance and operational reliability, the company seeks to build trust among fleet operators, entrepreneurs, and logistics players evaluating electric alternatives.
By maximising kilometres per charge and maintaining stable cruising performance across plains, hills, and coastal routes, the Pro X EV has established its readiness for any logistical challenge the Indian landscape presents.
Beyond zero tailpipe emissions, the K2K run showcased the Eicher Pro X EV’s ability to deliver predictable operating economics and minimal maintenance requirements under real-world freight conditions. These factors are pivotal for fleet operators evaluating the long-term Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and the commercial viability of transitioning to electric fleets.
This achievement aligns with the EV-first strategy of the Eicher Pro X. Eicher Pro X EV is positioned to support the evolving needs of middle and last-mile logistics. As India accelerates its transition towards cleaner transport, this milestone shifts the conversation from possibility to operational reality—proving that electric commercial vehicles are no longer a future ambition, but a proven, road-ready solution for today.
