The Global Road Infratech Summit & Expo (GRIS) 2026 will be held on February 5–6, 2026, at Hotel The Ashok, New Delhi, bringing together over 400 road safety and transport experts from India and around 20 countries.
Organised under the theme “Vision Zero India: Integrating Safety, Sustainability and Technology in Infrastructure”, the two-day summit aims to promote a holistic and future-ready approach to road infrastructure development, with a strong focus on reducing road fatalities and improving mobility outcomes.
The summit will be inaugurated by Mr Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Government of India.
GRIS 2026 is being organised by the India Chapter of the Geneva-based International Road Federation (IRF)—a global road safety body working towards safer and better roads worldwide—in partnership with CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), ITS India Forum, and the Bitumen Forum.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr K K Kapila, President Emeritus, International Road Federation (IRF), said that GRIS 2026 will witness participation from global infrastructure experts, policymakers, visionaries, and technocrats. “The summit will inspire innovation, showcase cutting-edge solutions from industry providers, foster knowledge exchange, and create valuable networking opportunities for decision-makers from government bodies and private organisations. The conference-cum-expo format is designed to deliver a holistic experience that educates, inspires, and drives progress in the road infrastructure sector.”
Mr Kapila added that the summit reflects a comprehensive approach to road safety by combining the latest technological advancements with innovative practices. “By prioritising safety across road design, construction, and management, the Vision Zero India theme seeks to move towards a future where road accidents become a rarity, with the ultimate goal of zero fatalities.”
He further noted that the summit will highlight successful global implementations and demonstrate the life-saving potential of Vision Zero as a scalable template that can be adopted by countries worldwide to achieve safer roads and sustainable mobility for all.
Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, President, IRF India Chapter, said that key subjects to be discussed at the summit will include strengthening governance frameworks for safer road infrastructure; infrastructure readiness for connected and autonomous mobility; development of public transport systems for liveable cities; and infrastructure solutions for sustainable transport.
He added that discussions will also focus on smart digital infrastructure and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to enable safer and greener travel, the use of artificial intelligence to advance the Vision Zero goals of safety and sustainability, integration of road safety into urban planning, traffic optimisation through intelligent infrastructure, and leveraging ITS technologies to enhance public transport efficiency and road safety.
The summit will feature an eminent line-up of speakers, including Mr Gonzalo, Director General, International Road Federation (IRF); Prof. Manoranjan Parida, Director, CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CRRI); Prof. Geetam Tiwari, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi; and Mr S.
