All India Distillers’ Association (AIDA) will host its Annual Distillers’ Conclave 2026 on March 24 at The Grand Vasant Kunj, bringing together over 300 stakeholders from India’s distillery, ethanol, and biofuel sectors.
Sanjeev Chopra, Secretary of the Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), will attend as Chief Guest. Senior representatives from the Embassy of Brazil in India, NITI Aayog, and the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry are also expected, highlighting the increasing policy focus on ethanol and bioenergy in the country.
The conclave will feature more than 20 sessions across four key tracks—policy, technology, sustainability, and market strategy. Key topics will include regulatory developments, next-generation distillation technologies, compressed biogas (CBG), green mobility, and capacity expansion. The programme will include keynote speeches, panel discussions, and technical sessions, culminating in an awards ceremony recognising excellence in distilling, ethanol production, and bioenergy innovation.
The event comes at a critical time as India advances towards its E20 ethanol blending target, which mandates 20% ethanol content in petrol. The distillery sector is expected to play a pivotal role in meeting this goal, alongside contributing to broader decarbonisation efforts such as the promotion of CBG and waste-to-energy solutions.
With participation from Brazil—widely regarded as a global leader in ethanol production and blending—the conclave is also expected to facilitate knowledge exchange and international collaboration as India continues to refine its biofuel strategy.
Established in 1953, AIDA serves as the apex body representing ethanol producers, bioenergy manufacturers, and potable alcohol producers in India. Its members account for over 80% of the country’s distillation capacity, and the association plays a key role in policy dialogue with central and state governments on issues including feedstock pricing, environmental compliance, effluent management, and interstate duty harmonisation.
As India’s ethanol ecosystem evolves and emerging segments like CBG gain momentum, platforms such as the AIDA Conclave are set to play an increasingly important role in shaping the sector’s future trajectory.
