
TVS Motor Company hosted an exclusive event in Bengaluru, unveiling three bespoke versions of its premium TVS X electric scooter. Developed in collaboration with renowned fashion designer Manoviraj Khosla, each custom creation was auctioned to collectors, with proceeds supporting A Hundred Hands, a non-profit working to uplift artisan communities across Karnataka. The evening brought together collectors, designers, and craft practitioners, positioning itself as a cultural showcase rather than a conventional product launch.
Titled the TVS X Collectors’ Soirée, the event marks the first in a planned series aimed at celebrating India’s diverse cultural heritage. TVS Motor Company intends to use the TVS X as a platform to engage with regional art and craftsmanship across the country, with Karnataka serving as the inaugural chapter.
Each of the three custom scooters drew inspiration from distinct elements of Karnataka’s rich heritage. Design cues were derived from the historic ruins of Hampi, the vibrant lacquerware and wooden toy traditions of Channapatna, and the regal aesthetics of Mysuru’s royal legacy. These influences were reinterpreted through a contemporary design lens, resulting in collectible pieces that blend tradition with modern engineering. In addition, Khosla created exclusive merchandise for attendees, further enhancing the experience.
Speaking at the event, Manoviraj Khosla described the TVS X as a “moving canvas,” highlighting how design was central to transforming the scooter into an expression of material, form, and storytelling.
Gaurav Gupta, President of India Two-Wheeler Business at TVS Motor Company, emphasized the broader vision behind the initiative. He noted that the soirée represents the beginning of a larger journey to integrate Indian art and architectural heritage into modern mobility, positioning ownership as a way to actively participate in preserving culture.
Mala Dhawan, founder of A Hundred Hands, also addressed the audience, underscoring the initiative’s role in creating meaningful connections between artisans and a wider audience. She highlighted how such collaborations not only promote traditional craftsmanship but also ensure fair value and sustainable livelihoods for artisan communities. The proceeds from the auction were directed to support these efforts.
The TVS X, positioned at the premium end of India’s electric two-wheeler market, is a key part of TVS Motor Company’s EV strategy. Bengaluru, a hub for the company’s EV development, served as an ideal starting point for this cultural initiative, drawing from Karnataka’s rich architectural and artistic heritage.
The TVS X Collectors’ Soirée reflects a growing trend in the automotive industry, where brands are increasingly aligning products with art, design, and cultural narratives. By doing so, manufacturers are building deeper emotional connections with consumers and creating a distinct identity beyond performance metrics.
