VinFast India is set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of a new 7-seater electric MPV in Delhi on April 15. The announcement was made by Tapan Kumar Ghosh, CEO of VinFast India, on Thursday.
Bookings for the upcoming electric MPV have already commenced, with customers required to pay a booking amount of ₹21,000. Interested buyers can reserve the vehicle through VinFast’s network of 50 showrooms across India or directly via the company’s official website.
“Bookings are open from today, and customers can visit any of our 50 showrooms across India to book the car. They can also place their bookings through our website,” Ghosh said.
The pricing of the electric MPV will be revealed at the official launch event. Once introduced, the new model will join VinFast’s India lineup, which currently includes the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. The upcoming MPV is expected to rival models such as the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMax 7 in the growing electric MPV segment.
Designed for Space and Comfort
According to the company, the VF MPV 7 has been developed using the brand’s signature ‘golden ratio’ design philosophy, with wheels positioned towards the corners to maximise cabin space. The vehicle is designed to accommodate seven passengers comfortably, offering consistent comfort across all three rows — making it particularly suitable for larger families.
The electric MPV is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed driving range of over 500 km on a single charge. The model also features fast-charging capability, allowing the battery to charge from 10 percent to 70 percent in approximately 30 minutes, improving usability for long-distance travel.
Expansion Plans and New Segments
VinFast India is also accelerating its retail expansion strategy, aiming to increase its showroom count from 50 to 75 outlets nationwide by the end of the year. In addition, the company plans to enter the electric two-wheeler segment in the second half of the year.
The company is also exploring opportunities in the commercial mobility space. Ghosh noted that the upcoming MPV — known as Limo Green in some international markets — is being positioned for both personal and fleet use, including taxi operations.
In Vietnam, the Limo Green version features a 60.13 kWh battery powering a front-mounted electric motor that produces 201 hp and 280 Nm of torque. The model offers a claimed NEDC range of 450 km and supports 11 kW AC charging along with 80 kW DC fast charging.
VinFast stated that additional specifications and pricing details will be announced at the time of launch on April 15.
