TVS Raider 125 crosses 1.9 million sales milestone since launch

The TVS Raider 125 has crossed 1.9 million cumulative sales globally since its 2021 launch. The sporty commuter motorcycle recorded over 426,000 sales in FY2026, strengthening its position in India’s competitive 125cc segment.

The TVS Motor Company has achieved a major milestone with cumulative sales of the TVS Raider 125 crossing 1.9 million units since its launch in September 2021. Total domestic and export sales stood at 19,07,277 units by the end of March 2026, comprising 1.62 million domestic wholesales and 286,008 export units.

The Raider 125’s strong performance highlights TVS Motor’s timely entry into India’s fast-growing sporty commuter motorcycle segment. Between FY2022 and FY2026, the Raider accounted for 31% of the company’s cumulative motorcycle sales of 5.27 million units. During the same period, the Apache range contributed 2.07 million units, holding a 38% share.

The motorcycle has steadily climbed the industry sales rankings, moving from ninth position in FY2023 to sixth place in FY2026 among India’s best-selling motorcycles. Its strongest performance came in FY2024, when sales surged 100% year-on-year to 478,443 units, making it TVS Motor’s highest-selling motorcycle for the year. The Raider outsold the Apache series by more than 100,000 units during that fiscal.

However, FY2025 saw sales decline 16% to 399,819 units amid softer market demand. Momentum returned in FY2026 after GST 2.0 revisions reduced prices from October 2025 onwards, helping Raider sales rise 7% year-on-year to 426,877 units and once again cross the 400,000-unit mark.

The Raider 125 competes in the highly competitive 110cc-125cc motorcycle segment against models such as the Honda Shine, Bajaj Pulsar, Hero Glamour, Hero Super Splendor, Hero Xtreme 125R, Honda CB125 Hornet, and the Bajaj Freedom 125.

In FY2026, the overall 110cc-125cc segment remained largely flat at 3.61 million units. The Raider emerged as the third highest-selling motorcycle in the category with a 12% segment share. The segment was led by the Honda Shine with 1.71 million units, followed by the Bajaj Pulsar at 774,995 units.

Exports also played an important role in the Raider’s growth story. Overseas shipments reached 286,008 units cumulatively till FY2026, with FY2026 becoming its best export year at 76,900 units, up 8% year-on-year.

A major factor behind the Raider’s success has been its sporty styling and premium feature list, which helped it stand apart in the commuter motorcycle category. The bike had also won the Autocar India Bike of the Year 2022 award for its design, performance, and value proposition.

Powering the Raider 125 is a 124.8cc engine producing 11.4hp and 11.75Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle offers a claimed top speed of 99kph and an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 56.7kpl. Key features include ride modes, a five-inch TFT display, SmartXonnect connectivity, boost mode, and single-channel ABS on select variants.

Priced between ₹82,000 and ₹97,000 (ex-showroom), the Raider 125 is currently available in seven variants — Drum, Single Seat, SSE, iGO, Split Seat, SXC DD, and TFT DD.

Looking ahead to FY2027, market conditions may remain challenging for premium commuter motorcycles as rising fuel prices could shift demand toward more fuel-efficient 100cc-110cc motorcycles. Even so, the Raider 125’s strong brand recall, sporty appeal, and feature-rich package are expected to keep it among the leading contenders in the segment.
