Montra Electric begins deliveries of Rhino 5538 EV Trucks

The rollout is part of a 260-unit fleet order that will serve India's mining, cement, steel, and construction logistics sectors, marking another milestone in the country's commercial vehicle electrification journey.

Montra Electric has commenced deliveries of its first batch of 65 heavy-duty electric commercial trucks from its manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana. The dispatch marks the first phase of a larger order comprising 260 electric commercial vehicles, which will be deployed across key industrial freight corridors in India.

The rollout represents Montra Electric’s transition from pilot operations to commercial-scale fleet electrification. The initial batch of Rhino 5538 EV trucks will support logistics operations in sectors such as mining, cement, steel, and construction materials, reinforcing the growing adoption of electric mobility in heavy-duty commercial transport. The remaining 195 vehicles are scheduled for delivery over the coming months.

Designed for demanding freight applications, the Rhino 5538 EV is equipped with an advanced electric powertrain and integrated telematics to enhance fleet efficiency, optimize vehicle performance, and maximize operational uptime during long-haul transportation.

Commenting on the milestone, Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director, Montra Electric, said the rollout reflects the increasing shift towards large-scale electrification in commercial logistics, as fleet operators seek sustainable and cost-efficient transportation solutions while reducing operating expenses.
