Škoda Auto has commenced series production of its new flagship electric SUV, the Škoda Peaq, at its main manufacturing facility in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. The model is being produced on the same assembly line as the all-electric Elroq and Enyaq, as well as the combustion-engine Octavia, showcasing the plant’s flexible multi-platform production capabilities.
The company says the shared production line enables greater manufacturing efficiency and allows it to quickly adapt output based on changing market demand. Since its market debut in June, the Peaq has generated strong customer interest, with nearly 8,500 orders received by the end of July.
Peaq Gets Škoda’s Largest-Ever Battery Pack
The new Peaq is offered with the largest traction battery ever fitted to a Škoda vehicle. The top-spec version features a 91 kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed driving range of more than 640 km on a single charge.
Škoda Auto also manufactures the advanced battery systems for the Peaq at its newly established battery assembly facility in Mladá Boleslav, further strengthening localised EV production.
Commenting on the production start, Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Chief Production Officer, said the Peaq represents the brand’s most advanced offering in terms of comfort, space and technology, while its manufacturing process meets the highest standards of quality, efficiency and flexibility.
Flexible Production Across Czech Facilities
The Peaq becomes the fourth model currently produced on the assembly line at Škoda Auto’s main plant. Originally developed for internal combustion engine vehicles, the line has undergone extensive upgrades over the years to support electric vehicle production.
The Enyaq entered production at the facility in 2020, followed by the Elroq in early 2025, with the Peaq now joining the lineup.
Alongside these EVs, Škoda continues to manufacture the Octavia Combi on the same line. To improve production flexibility, the company also began building the Octavia Combi at its Kvasiny plant earlier this year, alongside the Octavia liftback.
According to Škoda Auto, this dual-plant production strategy allows it to respond more effectively to market demand and potential supply-chain disruptions while creating additional capacity for electric vehicle production. The company noted that electric vehicles accounted for nearly 23 per cent of all Škoda vehicles produced in its Czech plants during the first half of 2026.
With production now underway, the Peaq is set to play a key role in Škoda Auto’s expanding electric vehicle portfolio and broader electrification strategy.
