Mahindra Group appoints Shveta Arya as Group Chief Strategy Officer

Arya brings more than 23 years of experience across automotive, travel, financial services, telecommunications and management consulting. She will lead the Group Strategy Office, identify growth opportunities and work across Mahindra’s businesses to create long-term value.

Mahindra Group has announced the appointment of Shveta Arya as its new Group Chief Strategy Officer, effective September 15, 2026. She will also join the senior management of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

In her new role, Arya will lead the Group Strategy Office and work across Mahindra’s diverse portfolio of businesses to identify new growth opportunities, unlock value and strengthen the group’s long-term strategic position. She will also become a member of the Group Executive Board and report directly to Anish Shah, Group CEO and Managing Director, Mahindra Group.

Arya brings more than 23 years of experience across multinational companies and management consulting, with expertise spanning the automotive, travel, financial services and telecommunications sectors.

Before joining Mahindra Group, Arya served as Managing Director of Cummins India Ltd, where she was responsible for driving business growth, customer success, talent development and workplace culture.

Prior to Cummins India, she led Strategy and M&A at Thomas Cook India and held various leadership roles at Kearney and Infosys.

Welcoming the appointment, Anish Shah said Arya’s experience in driving growth, shaping business strategy and leading organisations through periods of change would strengthen Mahindra Group’s efforts to create long-term value across its businesses.

Arya holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Information Technology from Delhi University. She has also been actively involved in initiatives focused on diversity, inclusion and women’s empowerment.

With her extensive experience in strategy, transformation and business leadership, Arya is expected to play a key role in shaping Mahindra Group’s growth priorities and strengthening its competitive position across sectors.
