TVS Motor Company has launched its Orbiter electric scooter in Sri Lanka, expanding its electric mobility portfolio in the international market. The scooter is equipped with a 3.1 kWh battery, offering an IDC-certified range of 158 km and a claimed real-world range of 115 km.
A key highlight of the TVS Orbiter is its 14-inch front wheel, which TVS claims is an industry-first feature designed to enhance ride comfort, stability and handling, particularly in urban riding conditions.
“We are delighted to introduce TVS Orbiter EV in Sri Lanka, marking another important step in our global electric mobility journey,” said Peyman Kargar, President, International Business, TVS Motor Company.
TVS Orbiter Gets Multiple Connected and Convenience Features
The electric scooter comes with a range of connected features designed to enhance everyday usability. These include a dedicated mobile app, turn-by-turn navigation, remote battery and odometer monitoring, geo-fencing, anti-theft alerts, crash and fall notifications, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
The Orbiter also features a colour LCD-connected instrument cluster with incoming call display, along with USB 2.0 charging and LED lighting.
For riding convenience, the scooter offers Eco and Power riding modes, complemented by regenerative braking. It also gets features such as cruise control, hill hold assist and parking assist.
Practical Design and Storage
TVS has designed the Orbiter around the requirements of everyday urban riders. It gets an 845 mm-long flat floorboard-style seat, a 290 mm straight-line footboard and 169 mm of ground clearance.
The electric scooter offers 34 litres of under-seat storage, which the company says is sufficient to accommodate two helmets.
For additional peace of mind, TVS is offering a five-year or 60,000 km warranty, whichever comes earlier, on both the battery and electric motor.
TVS Orbiter Colours and Sri Lankan Market Support
The TVS Orbiter will be available in Sri Lanka in four colour options: Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Cosmic Titanium and Martian Copper.
According to Geethal Anthony, CEO, TVS Lanka, the company expects the Orbiter to build on the success of the TVS iQube in the Sri Lankan market. TVS Lanka will support the new electric scooter through its sales network, after-sales service infrastructure, spare-parts availability and trained EV specialists.
With its combination of range, connected technology, practical storage and urban-focused features, the TVS Orbiter strengthens the company’s electric scooter portfolio while supporting its broader global electric mobility ambitions.
