The valedictory session of the 66th Annual Convention of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), themed “Changing Global Dynamics: Leveraging Opportunities,” focused on how India’s automotive industry can navigate evolving global trends, enhance its competitiveness and expand its presence in international markets.
Addressing the session as the Chief Guest, Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, highlighted the growing momentum around India’s automotive ecosystem and the opportunities emerging from changing global trade dynamics.
“Bharat Mobility Global Expo has sparked strong momentum, and that reflects the resilience of our automotive industry, highlighting where technology is headed. With India’s trade agreements opening new markets, we must set higher export targets and leverage the 4Ms — molecule, module, megawatts and markets — to build trusted global partnerships,” Goyal said.
He further noted that India’s reforms and strengthening automotive ecosystem are gaining global recognition, adding that the current environment presents an opportunity for the country to reshape the sector, strengthen self-sufficiency and contribute towards the vision of a developed India by 2047.
In his concluding address, Sriram Viji, President Designate, ACMA and Managing Director, Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., highlighted the key takeaways from the Convention and outlined the way forward for India’s automotive industry amid rapidly changing global dynamics.
The Convention reaffirmed the growing strength and resilience of India’s automotive sector, while underscoring the country’s potential to emerge as a global hub for next-generation mobility, technology and automotive manufacturing.
