Range Rover Electric: A new era for the original luxury SUV

The Range Rover Electric combines luxury SUV design with advanced electric performance and up to 600 km of WLTP range.

Range Rover, renowned as the original luxury SUV, has entered a new era with the introduction of electric propulsion. Built at Solihull, the home of Range Rover since 1970, the first-ever all-electric Range Rover marks a significant milestone in the brand’s history.

Combining Range Rover’s signature design and luxury with advanced electric performance, the Range Rover Electric delivers a quieter, smoother and more responsive driving experience, with greater torque than any Range Rover before it. Its electric powertrain further enhances the model’s renowned qualities of effortless performance, timeless luxury and uncompromising capability, while significantly reducing cabin noise for an even more refined journey.

Seamlessly integrating electric propulsion into a flexible architecture that was engineered for it from the outset, Range Rover Electric features twin permanent magnet 260 kW electric motors generating up to 405 kW and 850 Nm of torque. The majority of Range Rover clients will be able to complete their typical daily journeys without the need to recharge thanks to a range of up to 600 km (WLTP)1, and a real-world range of up to 535 km4.

New technologies enable precise control in all environments, including Intelligent Driveline Dynamics (IDD) which distributes rear torque from 100 per cent to zero per cent to prevent loss of traction, and Integrated Traction Management (ITM) which controls motor speed within 50 milliseconds and manages slip up to 100 times quicker than an ICE vehicle equivalent.

Integrated Traction Management works in concert with the new Single Pedal mode, providing owners exceptional control to smoothly pull away up to 33 degrees with ease – a slope as steep as a black-diamond ski run – or complete a rolling climb ascend up to 45-degree slopes.

The Range Rover Electric combines high-performance EV technology, advanced connectivity, extensive testing and locally developed manufacturing capabilities.

  • Fast charging: Using a 350 kW DC rapid charger, it can charge from 10–80% in around 22 minutes or add up to 220 km of WLTP range in 10 minutes.
  • Battery & powertrain: It features a 118.5 kWh usable lithium-ion battery with 344 prismatic cells and an 800V electrical architecture. Twin 260 kW permanent-magnet motors deliver strong performance and improved efficiency through silicon-carbide technology.
  • Performance: The SUV can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in as little as 4.5 seconds and complete 80–120 km/h overtaking in 2.7 seconds.
  • Connected features: The new Range Rover App allows owners to remotely check charge and vehicle status, locate the car, activate cabin purification and operate features such as the heated steering wheel.
  • Extensive testing: Range Rover Electric has covered more than 1.5 million km and undergone over 250,000 hours of virtual and physical testing, including extreme temperatures from -40°C to desert heat.
  • Thermal management: The ThermAssist heat-management system can add up to 40 km of range while reducing heating energy consumption by up to 40%.
  • Battery safety: JLR has developed rigorous battery testing, including vibration and shock tests from -40°C to +90°C. Each vehicle also receives a Battery Digital Twin with more than 900 diagnostic data points.
  • Warranty: The electric powertrain comes with an eight-year/160,000 km warranty.
  • UK manufacturing: Production is based at JLR’s Solihull facility, which has undergone major electrification upgrades. Around 9,000 employees have been upskilled for electrification, with another 1,500 trained across the wider West Midlands.
  • Advanced production: JLR has added 13 battery and electric-drive-unit manufacturing lines, supported by extensive conveyor, power and data infrastructure, along with AI-enabled quality inspection.
  • Availability: Orders are open in multiple configurations, including Autobiography, SV, SV Ultra and SV Black, plus a First Edition and bespoke personalisation options.
