Renault India, a wholly owned subsidiary of the French automaker Renault Group, has launched the updated New Renault Kwid, introducing refreshed styling, a simplified variant lineup, and revised pricing to make first-time car ownership more accessible and straightforward for customers.
A key highlight of the update is the introduction of Renault’s new brand identity on the Kwid, along with a streamlined two-variant lineup designed to better cater to the aspirations and evolving preferences of first-time car buyers. Additionally, the fully loaded Climber variant is now priced from ₹4.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making the feature-rich hatchback more affordable than before.
The car is now offered in Evolution and Climber variants, making the range easier to understand and easier to choose from. Combined with competitive pricing starting at INR 4.52 lakh and additional online benefits on the Climber variant which makes the fully loaded Climber variant cost INR 4.99 Lakhs, the New Kwid makes it an extremely strong value proposition.
Commenting on the announcement, Francisco Hidalgo, VP – Sales and Marketing Renault India, said, “For millions of Indians, owning their first car remains an important milestone. With an increasingly aspirational middle class and a large base of two-wheeler owners looking to upgrade, first-time ownership continues to be a strong and enduring aspiration.
Over 4.5 lakh customers in India have started their journey with Kwid, and that trust is something we deeply value. With the New Kwid, we are building on this legacy by making the offering simpler, clearer, and more relevant.”
Since its debut in 2015, the Renault Kwid has played a key role in making entry hatchbacks more aspirational. With its SUV-inspired design and modern features, it moved the segment beyond pure utility.
With this update, the focus shifts to making value clearer and easier to access. The New Kwid simplifies the offering with a more modern design, a streamlined variant line-up, and a more intuitive buying experience – making it easier for first-time buyers to choose and own.
