VW’s Taigun makes ‘a design statement’

Volkswagen India recently showcased design images of its upcoming SUV, Taigun. It is a bold, dynamic and German engineered SUVW designed and developed for the discerning Indian customers, said a press release.

Taigun is Volkswagen India’s new addition to the SUVW product portfolio and will be competing in the mid-size SUV segment.

Mr. Klaus Zyciora, Head of Volkswagen Group Design, said, “The Taigun is a design statement; it’s a combination of dynamism, power and space well complimented with legendary safety, build quality & functionality of a Volkswagen.”

The striking front end highlights the vehicle’s family affiliation, while emphasising individuality with the generous chrome applique on the front grille, keeping in mind the needs of the Indian customer.

The LED matrix (headlamps with daytime running lights) greet even before the drive starts. They can be individually switched off and dimmed.

Taigun has a modern dashboard layout with décor inserts, smart storage spaces for the young and active consumer, ambient lighting and ventilated leather front seats making the driver and occupant at ease.

High performance, low fuel consumption and driving pleasure are the main characteristics of Taigun powertrain. It will be powered by Volkswagen’s TSI technology. The two engine options available on the Taigun will be 1.0l and 1.5l TSI with a combination of three transmission options for customers to choose.

The SUV comes with a full range of safety features. It will be equipped with up to six airbags, ESC, three headrests at rear, three-point seat belts, ISOFIX and adjustable headrest for all.
