BNC Motors enhances EV production with new manufacturing facility

Covering 250,000 square feet, the facility is designed to manufacture 15,000 vehicles per month, catering to both domestic and export markets. It also boasts in-house capabilities for battery, electronics, and fabrication production.

BNC Motors has officially launched its new electric two-wheeler manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Spanning 250,000 square feet, the facility is equipped to produce 15,000 vehicles per month to meet both domestic and export demand. Additionally, the plant features in-house production capabilities for batteries, electronics, and fabrication.

Speaking about the factory, CEO of BNC Motors Anirudh Ravi Narayanan said, “Our new factory provides us 10x the capacity of our previous factory and allows us to accommodate production of multiple products, as well as a high-level of vertical integration within the facility. Our team has worked day-and-night to get this factory ready in a short span of 3 month to support our new product launch. With this unit, we have sufficient capacity to cover our demand forecast in the near term”

BNC expects to create many additional jobs in the coming year and months as a result of the capacity expansion. In addition, local supplier eco-system in Coimbatore and Tamil Nadu will benefit as well. More than a third of the capacity of the new factory is expected to go towards exports. BNC is also working to launch multiple new vehicles this year, including a scooter and a motorcycle.
