Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has unveiled the India-spec Hyundai Bayon SUV, introducing a suite of technology features, including a generative artificial intelligence (AI) voice assistant, an NVIDIA-powered connected car cockpit and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
The SUV is scheduled to launch in India on October 26, 2026, with pricing yet to be announced.
According to the company, the Bayon will be the first Hyundai model in India to feature a generative AI voice assistant. The system combines Perplexity’s AI capabilities with voice AI technology from SoundHound AI, enabling drivers to interact with the vehicle through conversational requests rather than relying solely on predefined commands.
The assistant is designed to help users plan travel itineraries, access real-time weather information, find hotels and restaurants, discover nearby shopping destinations and check sports updates.
