Škoda Auto India is celebrating 25 years in the country and 130 years globally with the launch of the all-new second-generation Kodiaq luxury 4×4 SUV. Following the debut of its first sub-4m SUV, the Kylaq, in early 2025, Škoda continues its premium push with the latest Kodiaq. The new-gen model brings a refined mix of luxury, off-road capability, on-road performance, and seven-seat versatility.
Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India shares, “In March, we recorded our biggest ever monthly sales in India, driven by the Kylaq launch, and supported by the Kushaq and Slavia. This is one of many new records we aim to set this year. In line with our product offensive strategy, the launch of the all-new Kodiaq showcases the other end of our product spectrum with Škoda’s luxury and technology prowess. The Kodiaq has now grown to be an important legacy name for us like the Octavia and Superb. The Kodiaq offers the ultimate luxury and handling for city roads and also packs in versatile all-terrain capabilities.”
Powertrain & Platform
At the core of Škoda’s flagship 4×4, the new Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0 TSI engine producing 150kW and 320Nm of torque. This is paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission, distributing power to all four wheels. Built on the MQB37 platform, it comes in Sportline and Selection L&K variants, both offering a seven-seat layout. Assembled at Škoda’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar facility, it delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 14.86 km/l.
Size & Space
The second-gen Kodiaq is 59mm longer than its predecessor, measuring 4,758mm in length, 1,864mm in width, 1,679mm in height, with a 2,791mm wheelbase. It offers 155mm of ground clearance when fully loaded. Staying true to its spacious nature, the three-row SUV provides 281 litres of luggage space with all seats up, 786 litres with the third row folded, and a massive 1,976 litres with both rear rows down.
Inside Out
The new Škoda Kodiaq blends premium comfort with modern tech, offering two distinct interior themes: a sporty all-black layout for the Sportline variant and luxurious Cognac leather upholstery in the Selection L&K trim. At the center of its tech upgrade is a 32.77-cm infotainment screen, complemented by multifunction Smart Dials with tactile rotary knobs and integrated displays for intuitive control of HVAC, seat ventilation, audio, and drive modes.
Ergonomic highlights include a relocated gear selector behind the steering wheel for easier access and a tablet holder for rear passengers. Comfort takes center stage with Ergo front seats featuring advanced pneumatic massage functions for optimal spine support.
An acoustic package with sound-insulating front-side windows ensures a quieter cabin, while nine airbags, a panoramic sliding sunroof, and a 725W Canton sound system with 13 speakers and a subwoofer elevate both safety and luxury. Rear window sunblinds further enhance privacy and passenger comfort.
Škoda Kodiaq: Bold Design, Premium Ownership
The all-new Škoda Kodiaq features a refreshed design with LED Beam Crystallinium headlamps and a Welcome Effect. The Selection L&K trim boasts Dark Chrome accents, while the Sportline variant gets Glossy Black highlights. A horizontal light strip in the front grille and a red strip connecting the tail lamps enhance its bold, wide stance.
It comes in six colours—Moon White, Magic Black, Graphite Grey, Velvet Red, and Race Blue—with Bronx Gold exclusive to the L&K and Steel Grey exclusive to the Sportline.
Ownership perks include a 5-year/125,000 km warranty, 10 years of complimentary roadside assistance, and a free first-year Škoda Supercare maintenance package.
Debuting in India in 2017, the Kodiaq remains a luxurious, seven-seat 4×4 and was the first Škoda SUV to follow the ‘K’ and ‘Q’ naming convention—now seen in the Kushaq and Kylaq. Named after Alaska’s Kodiak archipelago and bear, the Kodiaq symbolizes rugged elegance.
