Tesla India has unveiled the all-new six-seater Model Y L at its Ballard Pier Downtown Experience Centre, marking a significant entry into the luxury electric SUV segment. Online orders are now open, and customers will be able to experience the Model Y L starting 23 April 2026 at Tesla locations in BKC (Mumbai), Aerocity (Delhi), and Orchid Business Park (Gurugram).
The Model Y L is designed as a premium family-focused electric SUV, offering a WLTP-claimed range of up to 681 km, 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 5.0 seconds, and cargo space of up to 2,539 litres. Built to deliver greater practicality and versatility, the three-row, six-seat configuration maximizes interior space, making it suitable for both daily commuting and long family journeys.
Inside, the Model Y L emphasizes comfort and convenience across all three rows. The second-row captain seats come with powered armrests, one-touch folding, ventilation, and heating. The third-row features power recline, one-touch folding, and dedicated vented climate control, ensuring improved comfort for passengers across all seating positions.
Tesla has also enhanced ride quality with acoustic glass, an updated suspension setup, and new 19-inch Machina wheels. The refined chassis, along with adaptive suspension and electronic damping shocks, adjusts automatically to road conditions, helping filter vibrations and improve grip. The cabin is further complemented by an 18-speaker audio system with a dedicated subwoofer, delivering an immersive and quiet in-car experience.
The Model Y L also offers Tesla’s highly connected ecosystem, including live traffic visualization, satellite-view maps, live camera access, and in-car streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Netflix. These features enhance convenience and entertainment during long journeys.
Priced from ₹61,99,000, the Model Y L is available with monthly payment options starting at ₹49,000. Tesla India has confirmed that deliveries will begin from June 2026 across the country.
To support its growing customer base, Tesla India is expanding its charging infrastructure. The company currently operates five Supercharger stations with 20 Superchargers and 14 Wall Connectors across India. Tesla plans to add seven more Supercharger stations along key highways connecting major cities including Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Additionally, Tesla’s home charging program enables customers to conveniently charge their vehicles at home across all states.
Tesla’s direct-to-customer business model also focuses on streamlined after-sales service. With minimal maintenance requirements, many issues can be addressed via over-the-air (OTA) updates and remote diagnostics. Tesla currently operates service centers and body shops in Mumbai, Gurugram, Delhi, and Pune, and plans to expand to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Ahmedabad within the quarter.
