Toyota conducts groundbreaking ceremony for new school building of KPS in Kudoor

This school has a rich history of 119 years, since its establishment in 1904, currently serving 610 students with education in both English and Kannada mediums.

In line with its commitment to support the growing educational needs with special focus in rural areas and aligning with Government of Karnataka’s ‘Nanna Shale Nanna Koduge’ initiative, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) recently held a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of a new primary school building of Karnataka Public School (KPS) in Kudoor, Magadi Taluk, Ramanagara District. The event took place at the KPS campus in Magadi, organized by the Education Department of Karnataka. This school has a rich history of 119 years, since its establishment in 1904, currently serving 610 students with education in both English and Kannada mediums.

TKM has a longstanding commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dating back to 2001 and addresses the needs of the surrounding communities through its core vision of building vibrant communities in harmony with nature. The company’s CSR initiatives revolve around thematic areas: Education, Environment, Health & Hygiene, Road Safety, Skill Development and Disaster Management. These thematic areas are aligned based on the needs of the communities, national priorities, and Sustainable Development Goals. Education being a key priority, the company over the years has initiated several projects like school construction, education materials distribution and Toyota Anganwadi Development Program to facilitate healthy growth and development among children and accelerate access to quality education in Karnataka.

The ceremony was graced by a distinguished dignitaries, including Shri. D K Shivakumar, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri. Ramalinga Reddy, Hon’ble Transport & Muzrai Minister, Government of Karnataka, Incharge Minister – Ramanagara, Shri. D K Suresh, Hon’ble MP representing Bangalore Rural, Shri. H C Balakrishna, Hon’ble MLA, Magadi, along with Shri. Sudeep S Dalvi, Senior Vice President, Director & Chief Communication Officer, and Shri. Roshan R, Deputy General Manager, EA-State, CSR & BIA, TKM.

The company will construct new building comprising, ten modern classrooms, dedicated staff room, principal’s office, fully equipped computer room, state-of-the-art science laboratory, functional kitchen, well-stocked library, and washroom facilities. In addition to the construction, the school will be furnished with an array of essential items, including benches, desks, cupboards, chairs, tables, storage units, racks, and lockers, ensuring a conducive learning environment. This initiative exemplifies TKM’s dedication to empowering local communities through education and infrastructure development, with the aim of fostering the overall growth.

In the education area, the company through multiple efforts has provided a safe and conducive learning environment, positively impacting over 12,222 students in the last financial year and in total of 1,32,980 students since the start of the program.
