Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has announced the start of production of the new Volkswagen Taigun at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pune. The production rollout further strengthens the Group’s ‘Make in India, for India and the world’ strategy, underlining its focus on localisation, precision manufacturing, and a deeper understanding of Indian customer needs.
The new Volkswagen Taigun builds on the strong foundation established by its predecessor, now featuring refreshed styling and enhanced premium elements. The updated model introduces a bold, modern design language aimed at offering a more dynamic and contemporary appeal to customers.
Engineered for India’s diverse and demanding driving conditions, the new Taigun continues to uphold Volkswagen’s core strengths of European driving dynamics, superior comfort, and uncompromising 5-star safety standards. The latest iteration also reflects the company’s continued commitment to delivering premium mobility solutions tailored for Indian customers while maintaining global quality benchmarks.

Since its debut in 2021, the Volkswagen Taigun has earned a strong reputation for dynamic performance, refined comfort, and robust safety, establishing itself as a trusted choice in India and global markets. Over 143,000 units of the Volkswagen Taigun have been produced in India already, with around 30 percent of total production exported to markets around the globe. With production now underway, the new Volkswagen Taigun is set to further strengthen the brand’s SUV portfolio with a fresh offering that blends design, practicality, comfort, and performance.
