Royal Enfield Himalayan launched at Motoverse 2023

The Himalayan is available in three variants: Base, Pass and Summit and five colour options: Hanle Black and Kamet White (Summit variant), Slate Himalayan Salt and Slate Poppy Blue (Pass Variant) and Kaza Brown (Base).

Royal Enfield launched its adventure tourer, the all-new Himalayan at the brand’s biggest motorcycling festival, Motoverse 2023. The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is priced at Rs 2,69,000 (ex-showroom Chennai). This price tag is an introductory one and is valid in India till December 31st, 2023. Unveiled for the world at EICMA 2023 earlier this month, the new Himalayan is now available for bookings in retails in India and will be available across Europe starting March 2024.

The new Himalayan is launched with a lineup comprising 3 distinct variants – Base, Pass and Summit and a palette of 5 colours inspired by the elements of the Himalayas- Kaza Brown (base variant, priced at INR 2.69 lakh), Slate series comprising- Poppy Blue & Himalayan Salt (Pass- mid variant, priced at INR 2.74 lakh) and Kamet White & Hanle Black (Summit- top variant, priced at INR 2.79 lakh & 2.84 lakh).

Featuring a liquid-cooled 452 cc engine, the latest offering from Royal Enfield marks a significant milestone. This model boasts a 6-speed gearbox, a slip and assist clutch, and is mounted on a twin-spar steel tube frame. The ride is enhanced with a new Showa suspension and a ride-by-wire throttle that offers two riding modes. The engine, named Sherpa 450, showcases a four-valve head and DOHC setup, delivering a 39.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The Sherpa 450 incorporates features such as a semi-dry sump and DLC coating.

According to the company, the new Himalayan embraces the equilibrium between man, machine, and terrain, embodying a state of flow while exploring and harmonizing with the landscape.
