Hero MotoCorp appoints Srihari Mulgund as Chief Strategy Officer

Hero MotoCorp has appointed automotive industry veteran Srihari Mulgund as Chief Strategy Officer, effective August 17. He brings over 24 years of experience across engineering, product development and strategy.

Hero MotoCorp has appointed Srihari Mulgund as its new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), effective August 17. Following his appointment, Mulgund will join the company’s leadership team and will be classified as senior management under applicable listing regulations.

Mulgund brings more than 24 years of experience spanning automotive engineering, product development and strategic planning across major global markets, including the US, Japan, China and India.

Before joining Hero MotoCorp, Mulgund was a partner at EY-Parthenon, where he led strategic consulting engagements covering electric vehicles, batteries, internal combustion engines, supply chains and the emerging mobility ecosystem. His previous roles include senior positions at Aisin AW and FEV Inc., as well as serving as President of Ricardo Strategic Consulting, India.

He has also contributed to industry thought leadership through papers covering areas such as battery swapping, software-defined vehicles, alternative battery chemistries and hydrogen-powered ICE technologies.

At Hero MotoCorp, Mulgund will be responsible for helping shape and execute the company’s long-term strategic priorities, including its “House of Strategy” framework.

Mulgund holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore. He also has an MS from the University of Toledo and an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

His appointment comes as Hero MotoCorp continues to strengthen its strategic focus across emerging automotive technologies, electrification and next-generation mobility.
