Registration fee goes up from April 1

The registration fee of new vehicles, including two, four-wheelers and autorickshaw, is set to increase by INR 300, INR 600 and INR 600, respectively from April 1 next financial year (2022-23).

In a press statement, Deputy RTO Ravindra Bhuyar stated that the Central Motor Vehicles (23rd amendment) rules 2021 will come into force with effect from April 1, 2022. He said the act cover fees for services ranging from new registration, renewal of registration certificates, conducting test of a vehicle for grant and renewal of certificate of fitness for motor vehicles older than 15 years and grant or renewal of certificate of fitness for motor vehicles (transport) older than 15 years.

As per the revised fees, the fee for registration of imported vehicle will be INR 2,500 and its renewal will be INR 10,000. ln case of delay in applying for renewal, additional INR 300 every month or part thereof in respect of motor cycles and INR 500 for delay of every month or part thereof in respect of other classes of non-transport vehicles will be levied, stated the press note.
