The sixth-generation Nissan MICRA is set to make its return in 2025 as a fully electric, fully connected compact car. Staying true to its core values of style, simplicity, and everyday practicality, the new MICRA blends its iconic heritage with modern, zero-emission mobility.
Designed at Nissan Design Europe (NDE) in London, the all-new MICRA features a bold new look—combining a premium finish, SUV-inspired stance, and clean, minimalist surfaces with refined detailing, perfectly capturing its confident and contemporary personality.
All new MICRA grades will come with 18-inch wheels, with three different options depending on grade: “active” wheel covers, “Iconic” and “Sport” alloy wheel designs. That large wheel dimension, combining with the dark wheel arch trim, contributes to the new MICRA’s strong and solid stance on the road.
The new MICRA features distinctive design elements, including signature headlamps that perform a dynamic “welcome” and “farewell” light sequence. At the rear, ornate LED taillamps with circular elements enhance its appeal. A bold personality is reflected in 14 exterior colour combinations, with two-tone options allowing customization with black or grey roofs for a unique, personalized look.
“In designing the sixth generation of the MICRA, we’ve celebrated all the values that have historically made it so popular – and opened a new chapter for MICRA as an EV. The exterior has an audacious and playful appearance on first look but has a stance which gives it a solid presence on the road. We’ve also been able to integrate delightful details into the design, which owners will love. We’re proud to have been able to bring the MICRA into the EV age,” said Giovanny Arroba, Vice President – Nissan Design Europe
The new MICRA’s interior blends timeless elegance with modern features and subtle nods to its Japanese heritage, including a Mount Fuji design in the center storage area. It features a three-spoke steering wheel, a 10.1” digital driver display, and a full-width central touchscreen for navigation and media. Upholstery options across three trims—Modern, Audacious, and Chill—offer a premium and personalized cabin experience.
Compact yet spacious, the new MICRA is under 4 metres long and under 1.8 metres wide—ideal for urban driving. Its 2.54-metre wheelbase enhances cabin space, agility, and stability. Offered exclusively in a five-door version, it also boasts a generous 326-litre boot, outperforming many rivals in storage capacity.
The new MICRA debuts as a fully electric model, offering seamless EV driving with two battery options—40kWh and 52kWh—delivering up to 408 km of real-world range. Ideal for city and countryside driving, it supports fast charging from 15% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Standard features include a heat pump and battery thermal management. Both variants also support V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology, allowing the battery to power external devices.
The new MICRA delivers efficient, responsive performance with a lightweight build (as low as 1400kg) and a low-set battery for enhanced handling and agility. Built on the AmpR EV platform with advanced suspension systems, it offers best-in-class ride and driving dynamics. Instant torque and quick steering add to its lively performance.
Inside, it features intuitive technology, including NissanConnect with Google built-in and a companion app for remote access to charging, climate control, and vehicle data. Safety remains a priority with Nissan ProPilot assist and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems, ensuring a confident and connected driving experience.
