Hyundai Motor Company introduced its IONIQ 9 all-electric SUV at the iconic Goldstein House in Beverly Hills, California, ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The IONIQ 9 is Hyundai’s first large, three-row electric SUV and the third model in its IONIQ electric vehicle (EV) lineup.
Building on the success of its award-winning IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, which have solidified Hyundai’s position as a top-three EV sales leader in the U.S., the company aims to strengthen its global brand with the IONIQ 9.
The Goldstein House was chosen as the venue for the World Premiere due to its celebrated mid-century modern architecture, which mirrors the SUV’s spaciousness and Hyundai’s ambitions in electrification leadership. (Watch the premiere event film on the Hyundai Worldwide YouTube channel.)
The IONIQ 9 is a three-row SUV that seats up to seven people, offering impressive space and features that cater to individual needs while fostering a sense of connection — truly ‘Built to Belong.’ It boasts a generous level of interior flexibility, technologically advanced features, and a lounge-like atmosphere designed to create a space for people to connect.
With the LA skyline as a backdrop, the World Premiere showcased Hyundai Motor’s confidence in the vehicle. More than 300 global media representatives, influencers, and opinion leaders attended the event, which began with a welcome speech by José Muñoz, President and Global Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Company.
Muñoz reaffirmed Hyundai’s commitment to EVs, stating: “We are making remarkable progress in the industry and working hard to maintain leadership in electrification. The IONIQ 5 and 6 have achieved multiple accolades as World Cars of the Year. Tonight, we’re taking it to the next level with the all-new IONIQ 9.”
The program included Terrace Talk conversations, where Hyundai representatives were joined by tech content creator Judner Aura and LA entertainment reporter Amanda Salas for insightful exchanges.
