KW Automotive, owner of the BBS brand and aftermarket business, has secured all key assets of BBS plants in Schiltach and Herbolzheim, Germany, from BBS Autotechnik GmbH’s insolvency proceedings. The acquisition includes tools, production equipment, utility models, and inventory.
Klaus Wohlfarth, Managing Partner of KW Automotive GmbH, expressed his commitment to revitalizing BBS, stating that this acquisition sets the foundation for a fresh start after recent challenges. The purchase price remains undisclosed.
At the Schiltach site, these newly acquired resources will open up opportunities to further develop the vertical range of manufacturing and, consequently, enhance the overall manufacturing concept. Gaining full control over the plant’s assets enables the restart of a largely automated and digital production line, which has been in place since late 2023, with the goal of manufacturing BBS wheels quickly and flexibly.
KW Automotive has implemented key preparatory measures for restarting BBS production at its newly established wheel manufactory in Herbolzheim. With logistics resuming and the paint shop recommissioned, the focus remains on the BBS aftermarket business, ensuring swift delivery of highly customized wheels to enthusiasts.
