Mahindra launches Made-in-India XUV 700 in Australia

The price for the XUV 700 starts from 36,990 Australian dollars (about Rs 20.6 lakh at current exchange rates). Customers can choose between Everest White, Midnight Black, Dazzling Silver, Red Rage and the global launch colour – Electric Blue.

Mahindra & Mahindra announced that it has launched the Mahindra XUV 700 in Australia. The SUV will compete with Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan X-TRAIL in Australia.

”The introduction of the XUV700 in Australia marks a significant step for the Mahindra brand here,” M&M President – Automotive Sector, Veejay Nakra said.

He further said, ”The XUV700 has been engineered to cater to global markets and given its sensational success in the Indian market, we are confident that customers in Australia too will appreciate its class-leading attributes, advanced features, modern technology, and global safety standards.” This SUV is perfectly aligned to seamlessly integrate into the lifestyle of Australian customers. It will be available in two variants and five colours and comes with a warranty of 7 years or 150,000 kilometres, whichever is earlier, the company said.

The Mahindra XUV 700 in Australia is available in two variants – AX7, and AX7L. Features include twin 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech, Sony 3D Audio system, 360-degree camera, electric park brake, electric door handles, wireless charging, LED headlights with DRLs, Push button start, 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights and wipers, leatherette seats, TPMS, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, electric seats, Leather steering wheel and gear shifter, telescopic steering wheel and more.

Talking about the powertrain and gearbox, the XUV 700 gets a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine which puts out 197 bhp of power and 380 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed torque converter which sends power to the front wheels only. The SUV does not get a 2.2-litre turbo diesel, AWD or a manual transmission.

Safety features in the 700 include Six airbags (dual, front-side and curtain), tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill hold, hill descent control, roll stability control, electronic stability/traction control, brake assist and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution. The SUV also gets Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Features include Adaptive cruise control, smart pilot assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition and high beam assist. Mahindra is offering the XUV700 with 7 year/ 150,000 km warranty, whichever is earlier. The company also said that a 24/7/365 Roadside Assistance Plan will be included for the same period.
