Porsche 911 GT3 S/C debuts with high-revving naturally aspirated engine and manual gearbox

The 911 GT3 S/C brings together elements from the 911 GT3, 911 S/T, and 911 Speedster, creating a unique open-top GT model that prioritizes performance and driving pleasure.

Porsche has expanded its GT lineup with the introduction of the new 911 GT3 S/C, a performance-focused open-top sports car designed for pure driving enthusiasts. The latest addition allows fans of the iconic high-revving boxer engine to experience its distinctive naturally aspirated sound without a fixed roof, delivering an even more immersive driving experience. The new model blends key “driver’s car” attributes that previously impressed customers of the limited-edition 911 Speedster and 911 S/T.

For the first time, Porsche is offering a 911 GT3 with a fully automatic convertible roof. Engineered with a strong emphasis on driving pleasure, the 911 GT3 S/C combines the lightweight construction philosophy of the 911 S/T with the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre boxer engine from the 911 GT3. The powertrain delivers 375 kW (510 PS) and 450 Nm of torque, ensuring thrilling performance and a highly engaging driving character.

The new model also features distinctive styling elements borrowed from the 911 S/T, including unique wings and doors, while a black windscreen surround enhances its sporty and unmistakable appearance. The result is a striking open-top GT model that combines performance, lightweight engineering, and emotional driving appeal.

In line with its positioning as a driver’s car, this special model is available exclusively with a lightweight short-ratio six-speed manual sports transmission. The 911 GT3 S/C is the only open-top variant in the current 911 range that is designed as a pure two-seater – reminiscent of the 911 Speedster from 2019. Unlike the Speedster, however, the 911 GT3 S/C is not a limited-edition model. The new Street Style Package is also available for the 911 GT3 S/C, which allows the vehicle to be tailored even more precisely to individual tastes.

According to Frank Moser, Head of the 911 and 718 model series, the new 911 GT3 S/C caters to customers’ demand for sports cars that are particularly focused on driving pleasure: “The emotive powertrain of the 911 GT3 comes into its own even more emphatically when driving with the roof down on winding country roads. This is particularly down to managing to keep the weight of the 911 GT3 S/C down to just 1,497 kilograms, despite the fully automatic soft top. That is only about 30 kg more than the 991-generation 911 Speedster.”

Lightweight Design for Maximum Performance

The Porsche 911 GT3 S/C features extensive lightweight construction to deliver exceptional agility and driving dynamics. Several components are derived from the 911 S/T, including carbon-fibre bonnet, wings, and doors. The model also features carbon-fibre anti-roll bars and shear plate for improved performance.

The standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) reduce weight by over 20 kg compared to cast-iron brakes. Lightweight magnesium centre-lock wheels — 20-inch front and 21-inch rear — reduce rotating mass by approximately 9 kg. Additional weight savings come from a magnesium-reinforced convertible roof and a lightweight 40 Ah lithium-ion battery.

Sporty and Premium Interior

The 911 GT3 S/C features a driver-focused two-seater layout with lightweight carpets, carbon-fibre door pull handles, and black leather upholstery. Standard four-way adjustable Sports Seats Plus are offered, while lightweight carbon-fibre bucket seats are available as an option.

Other highlights include:

  • Perforated leather steering wheel
  • Rotary ignition switch (classic GT feature)
  • Digital instrument cluster with Track Screen mode
  • Shift lights for optimal gear changes
  • 9,000 rpm rev counter display

High-Revving 4.0-Litre Naturally Aspirated Engine

The 911 GT3 S/C is powered by a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing:

  • 510 PS (375 kW)
  • 450 Nm torque
  • 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds
  • Top speed of 313 km/h

The engine features revised cylinder heads, aggressive camshafts from the GT3 RS, optimised throttle bodies, and improved oil cooling. A short-ratio six-speed manual transmission enhances driving engagement.

Lightweight Convertible Roof

The fully automatic soft top features magnesium ribs for a coupé-like silhouette. The roof opens or closes in approximately 12 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h. An integrated electric wind deflector improves comfort and can be operated at speeds up to 120 km/h.

Distinctive Exterior Design
