Volkswagen Tayron Scores 5 Stars in Euro NCAP Safety Tests

Under its “Safety for All” philosophy, Volkswagen’s new Tayron demonstrates high safety standards across all test areas, offering a wide range of advanced assist systems for accident prevention—even in the entry-level version.

The new Volkswagen Tayron has earned the highest possible rating of five stars in the latest Euro NCAP safety tests, highlighting its exceptional safety features. This achievement reflects Volkswagen’s commitment to its core philosophy of “Safety for All,” driven by decades of innovation aimed at enhancing road safety across all vehicle segments, for all road users, and in every critical accident scenario.

Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) assessed the Tayron based on four criteria: Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Vulnerable Road User Protection (e.g. pedestrians, cyclists, etc.) and the safety support provided by driver assist and accident prevention systems. The 5-star rating achieved by the new SUV stands for an outstanding overall score, which reflects not only the continuous improvement of safety standards, but also the excellent equipment featuring assist systems for accident prevention as standard.

The new Volkswagen Tayron comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, even in its entry-level version. Key features include Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring, Lane Assist, Dynamic Road Sign Display, Predictive Speed Limiter, Adaptive Cruise Control with “stop & go,” Side Assist, Oncoming Vehicle Braking, Swerve Support, Driver Attention and Alert Systems, Automatic Post-Collision Braking, Front Cross Traffic Assist, and an Exit Warning System—ensuring high safety and driving confidence.

The new Volkswagen Tayron also includes a robust set of standard safety features, such as a 10-year Emergency Call Service, curtain and side airbags at front and rear, centre airbag at front, safety-optimized head restraints, and seatbelt reminders for all seats. It offers ISOFIX mounts (including i-Size compatibility) for child seats, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), electromechanical brake servo, Hill Start Assist and an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold—ensuring all-around occupant protection and driving stability.

The new Tayron is available to order now. The new Volkswagen Tayron has recently taken its place in the product range between the compact Tiguan and the larger Touareg.
