
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) successfully hosted the Automotive HR & Skilling Conclave 2025 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, under the theme “Accelerating Ahead: HR and Skilling for the Future of Mobility.”
The conclave brought together a diverse group of participants — including government officials, CHROs of leading automotive companies, HR professionals, industry consultants, HR tech providers, academia, and other key stakeholders — to discuss the rapidly transforming landscape of human resources and skill development in the mobility and automotive sectors.
Driving the Future of Automotive Talent
The event featured a series of thought-provoking sessions, including:

- “Harmony as a Business Driver: Evolving IR Practices”

Each discussion emphasized the need to build a future-ready workforce, enhance industry–academia collaboration, promote progressive industrial relations, and foster a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing organizational culture that aligns with the needs of the evolving mobility ecosystem.
Through these dialogues, the conclave reaffirmed SIAM’s commitment to advancing HR innovation, skill development, and sustainable talent practices within the Indian automotive industry — ensuring that the sector remains agile and competitive amid rapid technological and market transitions.
On this occasion Chief Guest, Mr. Thiru C.V. Ganesan, Hon’ble Minister for Labour Welfare & Skill Development, Government of Tamil Nadu, observed, “HR leaders of auto companies have greater responsibilities, as they need to take care of thousands of skilled professionals working for their organizations.”
Mr. Thiru K. Veera Raghava Rao, IAS, Secretary, Labour Welfare & Skill Development, Government of Tamil Nadu, said, “There is a need to ensure that we have appropriately skilled people to support the ever-evolving technological landscape and to ensure that the investments made by companies are sustained.”
Dr. Natwar Kadel, Chairman, SIAM Human Capital Group & Vertical Head- People Strategy, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “Auto is one of the largest contributors to GDP and also to employment in the country. HR leaders of Auto Industry have a responsibility to ensure we continue to unlearn, relearn and innovate ourselves in a sustained manner.”
Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Co-Chairman, SIAM Skilling Group and Operating Head – Corporate Affairs, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd. said, “Investing in skills today is the key to building a strong industry tomorrow.
