Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPV) has announced the prices of the petrol-powered versions of its Harrier and Safari SUVs, marking the debut of the company’s new 1.5-litre HYPERION Turbo-GDi petrol engine in both models. The Harrier petrol is priced from ₹12.89 lakh, while the Safari petrol starts at ₹13.29 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
With this launch, Tata Motors expands its powertrain portfolio in the mid-size and three-row SUV segments, which have so far been largely dominated by diesel options. The newly introduced 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine has been engineered to deliver a balance of performance and fuel efficiency, catering to both city commuting and highway driving. Customers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions across multiple variants.
The petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari come equipped with a host of technology and comfort features, including a 36.9 cm infotainment touchscreen, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), connected car technology, and enhanced in-cabin comfort features. Safety continues to be a key focus, with all petrol variants achieving a five-star rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP).
Commenting on the launch, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited, said, “With over 2.5 lakh Harrier and Safaris on Indian roads, these SUVs have come to represent Tata Motors’ legacy of strong design, performance, and safety.”
