Mahindra Electric SUV Portfolio Crosses 1 Lakh Sales Milestone

Mahindra & Mahindra’s electric SUV portfolio has crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone. Its current lineup includes the XUV 3XO EV, XUV400, BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s electric SUV portfolio has crossed the one lakh-unit sales milestone, marking a significant volume milestone for the automaker’s electric passenger vehicle business.

The company announced the achievement through a social media post, thanking customers for contributing to the milestone. “Every time we see a Mahindra Electric SUV on the road, it feels special. Today, there are 1 lakh of them,” the company said.

Mahindra’s current electric SUV portfolio comprises five models — the XUV 3XO EV, XUV400, BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S. The models are positioned across different segments, with prices ranging from ₹13.89 lakh to ₹31.25 lakh.

The milestone comes as Mahindra continues to expand its electric SUV portfolio as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s electric passenger vehicle market.

Born-Electric Models Drive EV Growth

Mahindra entered the electric SUV segment with the XUV400, an all-electric compact SUV based on the ICE XUV300, which was introduced in January 2023.

The company subsequently accelerated its EV portfolio with the introduction of the XEV 9e and BE 6 in November 2024. Both models are based on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO electric vehicle architecture.

The two born-electric SUVs helped accelerate Mahindra’s EV volumes, with the company reaching the 30,000-unit milestone in less than seven months following their introduction.

The portfolio has since expanded with the addition of the XEV 9S, further broadening Mahindra’s electric SUV offering.

More Compact EVs Planned

Mahindra is also preparing to expand its electric vehicle portfolio into smaller segments. The automaker is working on more sub-four-metre products based on its NU.IQ modular platform, which is designed to accommodate both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric powertrains.

The upcoming products could allow Mahindra to extend its EV presence into more compact vehicle segments while continuing to build on its existing electric SUV portfolio.
