Marelli to unveil smart lighting innovations at Auto China 2026, April 24–May 3

Marelli’s latest lighting solutions integrate full-width design, intelligent interaction, and high-resolution adaptive lighting, with production-ready technologies including the Thin Corner-to-Corner Headlamp, Flat Lit Surface digital rear lighting, and h-Digi® MicroLED.

Marelli, a global technology partner to the automotive industry, is set to showcase its latest advanced automotive lighting innovations at Auto China 2026, scheduled to take place in Beijing from April 24 to May 3. At the event, the company will highlight how automotive lighting is transforming into a software-defined platform that enables design differentiation, enhances brand identity, enables intelligent interaction and digital communication, and improves vehicle safety.

Thin Corner‑to‑Corner Headlamp: ultra-slim front lighting with touch and voice interaction

As vehicles transition to software‑defined architectures, automotive front lighting is evolving toward ultra-slim, full‑width headlamp designs that combine illumination, interaction, and brand differentiation.

Marelli’s Thin Corner‑to‑Corner Headlamp is a full‑width, ultra-slim automotive headlight that integrates all core lighting functions with touch and intelligent voice interaction directly into the lighting system. The solution features ultra-slim lighting modules of just 15 mm × 120 mm. The system realizes key front illumination functionalities and dynamic light animations. Its interactive functions include opening the vehicle front trunk (frunk) by just a touch on the illuminated logo or through voice control. The voice interaction currently supports Chinese and English.

Designed for mass‑production vehicle programs, the Thin Corner‑to‑Corner Headlamp expands front‑end design freedom for vehicle makers while delivering enhanced convenience, emotional engagement and a next-level user experience for drivers. The solution shown at Auto China 2026 is ready for production.

Flat Lit Surface: 3D digital rear lighting with OLED and Folia-LED driving styling and communication

As rear lighting systems become part of connected and software‑defined vehicle platforms, digital rear lighting and external communication are emerging as key innovation drivers.

Marelli’s Flat Lit Surface is a digital rear lighting solution combining OLED technology and Folia-LED surface lighting to create distinctive three‑dimensional illuminated surfaces. The system enables all core rear signaling functions, including stop, tail, and turn, as well as animated welcome and goodbye scenarios. With a 6 mm OLED pixel size, Flat Lit Surface allows for personalized display content and provides a foundation for external communication and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) applications.

The Flat Lit Surface technology strengthens rear‑end design differentiation and brand recognition for vehicle manufacturers and is ready for large‑scale mass production, with additional functionality enabled through software updates.

h-Digi® MicroLED: high‑resolution MicroLED headlamp for digital and intelligent front lighting

MicroLED headlamp technology is becoming a core enabler of next‑generation intelligent automotive lighting, allowing for more precise Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB), versatile light distributions, and advanced projection functions.

Marelli’s h-Digi® MicroLED is a high‑resolution MicroLED projection module for intelligent headlighting systems, available in 25K and 40K pixel configurations to address multiple vehicle segments. The 25K MicroLED version is a mature, compact, and energy‑efficient solution supporting high‑precision ADB, adaptive front lighting functions, road projections, and dynamic lighting animations. The 40K MicroLED version, launching at Auto China and available for quotation then, increases pixel density and precision for premium vehicle applications.

This scalable MicroLED lighting portfolio enables automotive manufacturers to balance performance, cost, and future scalability, while enhancing nighttime driving safety and enabling advanced intelligent lighting features.
