Ola Electric has introduced the new Ola S1 X+ electric scooter featuring a 5.2 kWh battery pack, priced at an introductory ₹1,29,999 until April 15, 2026. The launch marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to bring longer-range electric mobility solutions to the mass-market segment.
The S1 X+ 5.2 kWh is powered by Ola Electric’s in-house developed 4680 Bharat Cell, signalling the broader rollout of the company’s proprietary battery technology across its product lineup. The move aligns with Ola Electric’s vertically integrated approach to manufacturing batteries, vehicles, and core components in-house.
An Ola Electric spokesperson highlighted that vertical integration enables faster innovation, improved scalability, and the ability to deliver advanced technology to a wider customer base. The spokesperson added that the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh brings together performance, range, and affordability in a single package.
The new variant is equipped with an 11 kW mid-drive motor paired with an integrated motor control unit. Ola Electric claims the scooter delivers a range of 320 km (IDC) and a top speed of 125 km/h. The S1 X+ also features brake-by-wire technology along with a front disc braking system, aimed at enhancing safety and ride control.
With this launch, Ola Electric aims to expand access to longer-range electric scooters in the mid-price category, targeting customers seeking both performance and practicality.
Ola Electric’s current portfolio includes its Gen 3 S1 scooters across multiple battery configurations, including the Ola S1 Pro+ and Ola S1 Pro, alongside mass-market S1 X models. The company has also expanded into electric motorcycles with the Ola Roadster X lineup, offering battery options ranging from 2.5 kWh to 9.1 kWh.
Ola Electric manufactures its vehicles and key components at its facility in Tamil Nadu, while its battery innovation centre in Bengaluru focuses on advanced cell development and battery technologies.
