Hyundai Motor Company has introduced the all-new IONIQ 3, a fully electric compact hatchback designed to make electric mobility more intuitive, comfortable, and practical for everyday European use. The new model combines bold styling inspired by Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ philosophy with user-friendly technology and a spacious interior. As part of the growing IONIQ lineup, the IONIQ 3 reflects Hyundai’s broader vision of “Progress for Humanity,” focusing on advanced electrification, connected living, and practical everyday usability.
The IONIQ 3 debuts a new “Aero Hatch” design typology, featuring a silhouette optimized for aerodynamic efficiency while maximizing interior space. The sleek front transitions into a straight roofline that extends across both front and rear occupants before flowing downward into the rear spoiler. This design improves interior headroom and enhances comfort, particularly for rear-seat passengers, while maintaining aerodynamic efficiency.
According to Xavier Martinet, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe, the IONIQ 3 aims to bring the design, performance, and advanced features of the IONIQ brand to a broader customer base across Europe. He noted that the model has been built around everyday user needs, offering segment-leading aerodynamics, spaciousness, comfort, and practicality. The IONIQ 3 also introduces the new Pleos Connect infotainment system, featuring enhanced graphics, intuitive user experience, and customizable functionality.
Built on Hyundai Motor Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with a 400-volt architecture, the IONIQ 3 is engineered to deliver efficient performance and everyday usability. The model will be offered with two battery options, with the Standard Range version targeting a WLTP range of 344 km, while the Long Range variant aims to deliver up to 496 km on a single charge.
Charging capabilities include fast DC charging from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 29 minutes, along with AC charging support of up to 22 kW. These features are designed to improve convenience for daily commuting and long-distance travel.
Inside, the cabin emphasizes spaciousness and comfort with a flat-floor layout and Hyundai’s “Furnished Space” interior concept. The IONIQ 3 offers genuine five-seat comfort, with enough room to comfortably accommodate three adults in the rear. Luggage capacity is expected to reach 441 litres, complemented by an integrated Megabox storage solution to enhance practicality.
The IONIQ 3 also introduces the Pleos Connect infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS, providing seamless connectivity, intuitive displays, and advanced digital features. Additionally, the model comes equipped with Hyundai SmartSense advanced driver assistance systems, including Highway Driving Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
With its aerodynamic design, spacious interior, and advanced electric mobility features, the Hyundai IONIQ 3 aims to expand the brand’s electric vehicle portfolio and bring premium EV technology to a broader segment of customers.
